Orígenes de la filosofía analítica
Synopsis
"El libro no pretende ser una historia; la ausencia del artículo en el título intenta indicarlo. Ello es en parte debido a que, como explico en el Capítulo 1, he intentado prestar atención a aquellas influencias causales que parecen operar en el campo de las ideas independientemente de quién lee qué o escucha qué, pero también porque este libro no intenta ser totalmente comprehensivo: no he discutido el rol de los filósofos británicos Russell y Moore en la génesis de la filosofía analítica; del mismo modo, he dejado virtualmente sin mencionar tanto al Círculo de Viena como a los pragmatistas. El libro se pretende, más bien, como una serie de reflexiones sobre las raíces de la tradición analítica: observaciones que cualquier escritor de una genuina historia de esta tradición tendría, en la medida en que sean correctas, que tomar en consideración. Confío en que una historia tal se escribirá: sería fascinante".
