Dimensiones del significado: Una introducción a la semántica formal
Sinopsis
Este libro ofrece una introducción a la semántica formal dividida en tres partes. En la primera, "Una semántica para este mundo", se discute el principio de composicionalidad del significado, según el cual el significado de una expresión compleja se calcula a partir del significado de las partes que la componen. En la segunda parte, "Otros mundos", se muestra por qué una semántica de condiciones de verdad es insuficiente para dar cuenta de innumerables expresiones de las lenguas naturales y se introduce la noción de mundo posible. Finalmente, en la tercera parte, "Otras dimensiones", la teoría es enriquecida con la introducción de nuevas dimensiones de significación que son particularmente aptas para explicar el contenido expresivo de ciertas emisiones, que en algunos casos en particular, como el de los insultos, contribuye a vehiculizar sesgos xenófobos, racistas o misóginos.
